The Daily Bread Campaign

The vision:  a new 1500 square foot facility that creates a shopping experience for friends in need.  The Daily Bread campaign is the product of countless hours of conversation and collaboration, and it's more than dream... it's an existing opportunity.  With the help of community partners like Helland Construction, the plans are already in place.  The real estate is already earmarked for Pantry use.  This is a project that's ready to go (right now),

and with your help, we'll get it funded in its entirety.

One Part Warehouse

This new Pantry features "storeroom" space with ample freezers and shelving available.  A roll-up garage door to the north will greatly improve the efficiency of Food Bank deliveries weekly.  Finally, this facility's additional storage capacity will enable our Pantry to serve as a distribution center to other area pantries as the need arises.

The Need is Real

We've served countless families over the years, but the need the Pantry's services has never been greater.  Where a family can save on groceries, that income can be spent on other necessities like utilities, rent, or reliable transportation.  Our local pantry not only assists food insecure adults, but children too.  The Food Bank of Iowa estimates that as many as 43% of its clients are children (2024 data).

One Part Market

This new facility creates a retail space too.  Aisles of canned goods and personal care products would be stocked in same way that any merchandiser stocks their shelves today.  Inventories would rotate seasonally in the same way that they do anywhere else.  Interior signs and other displays would recognize our partners while adding to the overall retail experience.

Join the Mission

Your contribution (of any amount) will help make this Pantry happen.  In the meantime, our team of volunteers will continue their efforts to seek out available grants and willing sponsors.  Large gifts of $50,000 or greater can be given over a period of 3-5 years, and all gifts are tax deductible by way of this project's 501c3 status.  Bethlehem Lutheran, in partnership with Vanco Payment Services has established an e-giving page exclusively for Pantry gifts.   However you're able to help, your generosity will benefit area families for decades to come.
