"Now there are varieties of gifts but the same Spirit,

and there are varieties of services but the same Lord, and there are varieties of activities,

but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone.

To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good."

1 Corinthians 12:4-7

Meet our Team

The staff at Bethlehem Lutheran includes a gifted team of people who care for one another and the mission of Christ's church. If you have any questions for any of us, feel free to email us here.  Another option: contact the church office by phone or stop by Monday through Friday during office hours.

  • Nat Bothwell - Pastor

Pastor Nat joined Bethlehem in September of 2018, and has served the church in a variety of roles all of his life (LYO youth representative, synod candidacy committee member, youth leader, and interim minister to name a few).  A 2016 graduate of Wartburg Seminary, Nat went to seminary at age 42 after a career in bank marketing and advertising.  Pastor Nat holds a B.A. in business and economics from Hendrix College, an M.B.A. from Wake Forest University, and a M. Div. from Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa.  Nat is married to his wife Minna (also an ELCA pastor); together they have a daughter (Ada), a dog (Artie), and a cat (Floyd).

  • Tami Staples - Administrative Assistant

Tami is a life-long member of Bethlehem.  She was baptized, confirmed, and married here.  She and husband Gene have three kids and seven grandkids. They're enjoying their retirement now (keeping up with all the grandkids and their activities).  Tami co-taught confirmation at BLC for 35 years, and she's authored a number of church Christmas programs as well. A retired school nurse of 14 years at Ballard Middle School, Tami remains a faithful servant at BLC, and we're incredibly blessed to have her in the office these days.

  • Jonathan Bell - Music Director

Jonathan brings a lifetime of experience as a composer of film scores, theatrical pieces, and chamber music to Sunday mornings at BLC.  He holds a B.A. from Tufts University in Boston, a B.M. from the New England Conservatory, and a masters from the Mannes School of Music in New York City.    When he's not practicing his craft, Jonathan enjoys time with his family (wife Stephanie and son Walter), nature hikes, and continental language philosophy (point of fact :).

  • Bethlehem's Church Council

Bethlehem's church council serves the congregation as a sounding board and visionary team.  They are caretakers and curators, willing servants and discerning advocates.  Together, the pastor and council work to support the mission of BLC while anticipating the church's emerging needs. Serving on church council for 2025:  Doug Houser (President), Cindi Zimmermann (Vice President), Ed Fulk, Rose Arrowsmith, Lindsay Gustafson, Brenda Neville  and Sarah Seigfried (not pictured), and Pastor Nat.
